Dr. Drake-Albert attended New England Conservatory of Music and graduated with a bachelor's degree in piano performance. She taught piano in the Dallas area for many years, before returning to school at the University of North Texas in Denton to pursue pre-medical studies. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. After an internship in Family Practice, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Drake-Albert is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Drake-Albert is married to Dr. Gerald Albert, a urologist with Wichita Urology Group. They are passionate about raising their two children and participating in their various activities. She enjoys cooking, playing the piano, gardening, and teaching in the Awana program at her church. At home she tends to a formal rose and butterfly garden and enjoys growing organic vegetables. She believes it is important for her children to experience, in their own back yard, their connection to God’s beautiful earth.
Dr. Drake-Albert enjoys a highly personalized style of practicing medicine. She wants to know her patients as individuals, and believes through being presented with knowledge and options patients can become active participants regarding their health.
She has a conservative approach to the practice of medicine, and emphasizes preventative and non-surgical options for the management of common gynecologic issues. In certain circumstances, however, surgery is recognized as the best option.
